Eccentric Inspiration

Who do you admire? Why?

I often ask myself these very questions and being totally honest, I hate finding out reprehensible things about other people. Sure, nobody's perfect but I'm talking about something like David Bowie with underage groupies, things like that.

Does it detract from his music? Does it detract from his innovative fashion choices and collaborations? No, but it detracts from him as a human. But do we see artists, etc. as humans or do we idly consume their output with nary a second thought?

And what to do about these controversial figures? How can we truly know that they are sorry for their past bad behaviors?

We can't, and I struggle with this all the damn time.

I'd considered myself a fan of Lady Gaga years ago. Not a superfan like some dear friends are, but I liked what she was doing and she can sing and all that.

However, I didn't give her any more thought after she did that awful song with R. Kelly. Then that song was recently pulled from streaming services and she offered a not totally satisfactory explanation.

Does it seem sincere in light with the timing of certain awards ceremonies after she did that remake? I'm skeptical.

Sincerity is a very important value to me.

This is merely my opinion and opinions are like....well, you know.

What I do know is that I've looked TO some people that I've found fascinating either in their appearance, wit or in the rare combo, BOTH.

Here are some people and my favorite fact or quote of theirs is posted below their pics. I'll link to good resources about them if you're compelled to read more.
